Day Weather Deviation Approach Landing

Out in the Pacific Ocean lies the Island of Guam and Andersen AFB. I am a 1Lt. on my second Pacific TDY whom is at the controls in the right seat copilot position circumnavigating a daytime thunderstorm with the assistance of the AC and navigator. As usual, the pressure mounts the longer you are flying on instruments, because you never know how bad the weather could get. Turns out this storm was not on the airfield, so it all clears as we approach final. However, when we taxi in and turn to face the storm, you can see just why all the deviations were necessary.
